Firefighter Tara Lal on storytelling, self-care & resilience

Full-time firefighter Tara Lal is passionate about mental health. She helps run the psychological wellbeing program for Fire & Rescue NSW and is half-way through a PhD researching how firefighters cope with the tragic suicides they encounter on the job. Tara’s family history has shaped who she is today. It’s something she captures in her powerful 2015 memoir: Standing on my Brother's Shoulders: Making Peace with Grief and Suicide. In this podcast Tara shares her insights on building resilience in the face of adversity and trauma.
